AAF Buffalo: Speakeasy 2020

The Addys go underground. As a designer at FARM I got the opportunity to help my fellow cultivators with putting on the AAF Buffalo Advertising Awards Show (the Addys) during the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020. It truly was a huge agency-wide collaborative effort, an incredibly rewarding experience and so much fun.

Our theme was Speakeasy 2020, really playing up the prohibition angle since this decade is the new roaring 20s (if you would call staying home and practicing social distancing a roaring good time but hey, the awards show was right before the pandemic hit). For the show, I got the opportunity to work on illustrations used throughout promotional pieces like buttons, teaser posters, social posts, the show video reels and the awards showbook. I was able to create an illustration of the signature show cocktail and animate it to be used on the show website, and I was able to work on some spreads in the showbook and create the discreet showbook cover (it’s just a plain old ledger, we promise). Everyone did a little bit of everything for this show, and it was so amazing seeing everything come together on show night.
