Keyframe Killa is a lyric animation I completed in School of Motion’s After Effects Kickstart course. It’s a fun track the school gives students, which we then had to take and completely design and animate a short lyric video around. I liked the idea of the animations themselves reflecting the actual lyrics. So for example in scenes like, “Animate those eyeballs straight to heaven” and “Animation’s got no filler,” the effects really represent what you’re hearing, and overall unify the music and visuals you’re experiencing. And since it’s such a fun, upbeat track, I played with a bright color palette, bold fonts, graphics to replace some of the letters, and experimented with how the text was laid out and filled the screen in each section.
