OLV Charities’ “Save the Dome” Capital Campaign

OLV Charities’ “Save the Dome” Capital Campaign

In early 2024, OLV Charities launched the public phase of their “Save the Dome, Adopt an Angel” Capital Campaign, in order to continue raising funds for OLV National Shrine & Basilica’s multimillion dollar dome restoration. In order to do that, a look and feel for the campaign was needed, as well as a mailing for funds and other designed elements that could be used cross platform.

I headed up the Art Direction of this piece, and came up with an old but clean look to the campaign, marrying the past with the current day. OLV Basilica is a historic place with large impact in the Western New York area these past 100 years, and I wanted the artwork to reflect that. The appeal featured the callouts “Save the Dome” and “Adopt an Angel” for donations, so I came up with illustrations of an angel statue from the Basilica and its dome that feature the callouts on banners. I added another of OLV’s founder, Father Baker, with a banner saying “In the Spirit of Father Nelson Baker” for use in other areas of the appeal as well.

It was a successful campaign, and the campaign’s money goal was met through the public’s donation, and many angels in the Basilica were “adopted” by donors to continue building that community aspect that OLV strives for. The mailing artwork and illustrations can be viewed below.
